Fragrance layering — wearing more than one scent together, or building a routine around a base and an accent — sounds like an advanced trick, but it's actually simple once you understand which notes pair well.
Why Layer at All?
Layering lets you adjust intensity and character without buying a fourth or fifth bottle. A lighter scent can be deepened for an evening; a bold scent can be softened for daytime, all using fragrances you already own.
The Basic Rule: Match Weight, Not Just Notes
The safest layering pairs a lighter, closer-wear scent with a heavier, more present one — not two equally bold fragrances competing for attention. This is exactly why IZNA's three scents were built at different intensities in the first place.
How to Layer IZNA's Range
- Sukoon + Riwayat: Spray Sukoon on your body as a base, then add a single spray of Riwayat to your clothing or scarf. The result is a warmer, spicier take on Sukoon's clean musk — ideal for transitioning from an office day into an evening out.
- Nayaab alone, reinforced: Nayaab's floral-woody profile is versatile enough to wear alone, but a second light spray after 4–5 hours (rather than mixing with another scent) extends it cleanly through a long day.
- Riwayat as an accent only: Because Riwayat has the strongest projection of the three, use it as an accent (one spray on clothing) rather than a full application when layering — a little goes further than expected.
What Not to Layer
Avoid combining two strong, high-projection scents at full application — the result usually reads as muddled rather than intentional. If in doubt, apply the bolder scent to clothing only, and the lighter scent to skin.
Start Simple
If you're new to layering, start with a single accent spray rather than a full double application, and adjust from there based on how it wears through the day.
